New York, NY — SocialFlyr is a new iPhone application that was recently approved by Apple and publicly released.  The application was created and developed by StartupArtist.  Privately funded, StartupArtist is a consortium of tech, internet and business professionals who are constantly looking for new ways to help make peopes lives a little easier and a little more fun.

The idea of SocialFlyr came about based on the need for a quick and useful way to send digital flyers (or ‘flyrs’) on the go.

The first application that can create, view, and distribute digital flyers on the iPhone, SocialFlyr is currently ranked #34 in the Lifestyle category of iTunes and is also being featured in the New and Noteworthy section on the iTunes homepage.

You can use your own photos, or choose from a series of templates, and customize them with an easy to use interface.

SocialFlyr is fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter and you can also easily send to friends via email (MMS and offline distribution coming soon). Some of the ways customers are already using the application include:

* Publicizing an upcoming event to your friends and colleagues;
* Sending an announcement to your followers or friends on social networks;
* Distributing coupons or specials to your customers – it’s very easy for these Flyrs to spread virally because of its simple interface;
* Adding a funny caption to any picture you take or download, and sending them to your friends.

In future updates we are looking to add the ability for users to share public SocialFlyrs with other users within the application, adding geotagging and adding other location based services for users to distribute flyrs globally, regionally or locally.
